BlackRock Aladdin Brand - Style Guide
After noticing a major discrepancy in our main applications that also tracked to other applications, I wanted to help our designer and developers to create brand recognition and design consistency. Using Google Material Design as a base, I developed our style guide and later worked with our NYC team to update and transform the style guide into a design system.
In Practice
The Aladdin Suite of tools is a robust set of applications that allow users to easily jump from one view to the next providing our end users with the best portfolio management. Each application was developed by different teams, which in turn created a vast amount of inconstancy in the user experience. Talking to users, developing a design wide style guide and working with design and development teams helped to being and bring the tools together. Once this design approach was accepted by upper management I began to work with the NYC development team to create interactive design system with reusable components.
